The Steering Group meeting this week is to be postponed and the planned agenda items will be taken forward to the next meeting, which will be after the General Election.
The main reasons for this postponement are:
Melton Borough Council have hit problems with their Local Plan, and at this moment we are not sure what will be the outcome. Since the Neighbourhood Plan for Bottesford Parish needs to reflect the Melton Local Plan there seems little point in meeting for the sake of it.
There have also been substantial changes at Melton Borough Council with a new leader and different people in key positions. Again we are unsure what impact that will have on the Plan and Bottesford.
You will be aware that the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and the Parish Council are objecting to the increased number of houses allocated to Bottesford in the Emerging Options proposals for the Melton Local Plan. This increase in houses has resulted in the number of building sites increasing from 2 (along with some small additional ‘windfall’ schemes) to 9 sites across the village.
We have therefore enlisted the help of Byron Rhodes, Borough Councilor for Long Clawson and Stathern and recently re-elected Leicestershire County Councillor for our area, to assist us in putting our case for reducing the housing allocation for Bottesford.
Dates for future Steering Group meetings will be notified shortly and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
